The University of Macedonia of Economic and Social Sciences was established in 1948, and currently has ten departments: Department of Applied Informatics, Department of Information Management, Department of Accounting and Finance, Department of Business Administration, Department of Economics, Department of International and European Economic and Political Studies, Department of Educational & Social Studies, Department of Balkan, Slavonic & Oriental Studies, Department of Marketing, Department of Music Science & Art. Furthermore, the departments of the University of Macedonia offer four departmental and three interdepartmental postgraduate programmes.
