Biotechnological scientific and educational center was established to address the tasks of governmental scientific, technical and social program “Science in the Universities” pursuant to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated March 4, 2009. The center is aimed at introducing new organizational and structural forms of scientific training of highly qualified specialists and conducting of competitive research and development. Major R&D areas of the center are as follows: environmental biotechnology; biotechnology for plant protection and mushrooms; biotechnology for healthcare products; bioengineering and biosensor controls; molecular biotechnology; bioinformatics and mathematical biology; bio-safety problems.
