ECOM - Association for the Protection of Human Being and Environment for a Sustainable Development in the world - Constanta is a non-governmental organisation active from 2004. ECOM is a professional association whose activity emphasises the harmonisation of scientific areas (environment, agriculture, biotechnologies, chemistry), cultural and artistic field. 

Through the declared purpose in the ECOM Constanta statute, the organisation promotes «the changing of the mentality of the economical operators, state and public administration, of the entire civil society, towards the achieving of a healthy life style in a friendly environment». According to its ideal, the association actively takes part in projects related to this topic. ECOM is able to create working groups in these areas while bringing together multi-disciplinary expert teams.

The objectives of the association are:

a) promoting and sustaining scientific and research activities in the following fields:
- environment, ecology and agriculture,
- chemistry, petrochemical, biology,
- biotechnologies, pharmaceutical products,
- art, culture and traditions.
b) dissemination of information / knowledge  about the new concepts / methods;
c) participation  as partner or promoter in the national and international programmes of scientific research and culture;
d) organising training courses on all levels;
e) functioning as a training and continuous improvement centre for all ages concerning a long and healthy Life-Long Learning.

ECOM has the ability to develop new working groups for different subjects, bringing together experts from different fields. Organisation's members are mainly academic staff, psychologists, physicians, and men of culture, with good organisational ability, open minded and enthusiastic.

The experience gained through the projects developed so far proves ECOM's ability to initiate, sustain and achieve the purpose of the activities in which it is engaged.
