The main objectives of ABMEE are linked to the sustainable development of Brasov with energy efficiency and environmental protection as the basis of that development. ABMEE is a neutral, independent, autonomous body, with its permanent staff, operating under the local and national authorities. It involves local stakeholders in the energy field.
Main sectors of activity are:
• Local planning and urban infrastructure development;
• Sustainable transport;
• Monitoring of energy consumption in public buildings and providing reports for controlling the energy efficiency measures implemented;
• Development of energy efficient systems using local and renewable sources;
• RUE and RES in housing/buildings in the public and private sector;
• Organising awareness campaigns like the Municipal Intelligent Energy Days;
• Organising workshops and conferences at local, national and international level, on sustainable energy issues.
