During 80 years since its foundation, SAUM has given a particularly valuable contribution to the economic, social, political and cultural treasure of the society.
SAUM was the first University in the Republic of Moldova to become a member of the European University Association and associate member of AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie). Furthermore, it maintains relations of cooperation with universities and research institutes all around the world based on more than 50 agreements, being open to international cooperation.
During 8 decades of existence, SAUM became a well-recognized higher education institution both in our country and abroad, training more than 50,000 specialists within its faculties, including about 1,000 from 67 countries who distinguished themselves by remarkable results in production and research both in our country and abroad.
Along with training specialists, SAUM also remarked itself by a core of great scientific importance, achieving national and international notoriety. The results of accomplished scientific researches - new plant varieties and hybrids, crossbreeds of animals and poultry, advanced technologies, machinery and equipment, pharmaceutical products etc. – have been collected and valued within a large number of monographs, books, patents, scientific articles and, usually, implemented in production.
Furthermore, SAUM also became a spiritual centre of agriculture: the academic staff developed a broad experience in propagating the results of scientific research and new technologies among farmers. At present, SAUM is well known both in our country and abroad due to its prestigious academic staff; it achieved scientific results and professional training of competent and competitive specialists.
