Information centres on sustainable energy: INOGATE spreads experience across EaP region
Sustainable Energy Information Centres will be opened later this month in Georgia and Moldova, by the EU-funded regional energy cooperation programme INOGATE. The centres will serve as focal points for disseminating information on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources to various target groups - from the general public to small and medium-sized enterprises and policy makers.

Ahead of the inauguration, a workshop will be held on 14-15 April in the Moldovan capital Chisinau to share the experience gained in setting up such centres with participants from the six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries, INOGATE said in a press release.
The event in Chisinau aims to assist decision makers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, who have not yet set up such centres, to get first-hand experience from Georgia and Moldova and to explain the rationale for establishing an information centre on sustainable energy. Enhancing awareness on sustainable energy is one of the key aspects of the INOGATE programme’s work.
INOGATE is one of the longest running energy technical assistance programmes funded by the European Union. It cooperates with 11 partner countries in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia to support a reduction in their dependency on fossil fuels and imports, improve the security of their energy supply and mitigate overall climate change. All countries of the Eastern Partnership are part of the programme. 2016 is the last year of the programme’s 20 years of operation.
