Given that universities are often regarded as key players in the process of social change and development, the selected theme fits well with the prevailing discourse on higher education in the region and beyond. Under this larger theme, three topics have been selected:

  • Three Core Mission for universities: teaching, research, economic/social development
  • Role of universities in regional development - cases from the Black Sea Region
