Enhancing capacity in Black Sea Region on regional peer review database
The facilitation of international peer-reviewing is an essential contribution of BSH project to responsible research and innovation as stipulated by the EC’s STI internationalisation strategic communication (2012). A regionally accessible peer-review database is an important tool to enhance the capacity to conduct evaluations of scientific proposals in all scientific areas; to enhance the transparency of the evaluation processes conducted by experts; and to respond more effectively and flexibly to the growing workload, particularly in cases where very specialized, unexpected and urgent evaluations may be required.

For this purpose PT-DLRs database EVAL-INCO, which had been used for previous ERA-Net Calls (BS ERA.Net, SEE-ERA.NET (/Plus) and ERA-NET RUS (/Plus)), will be further developed to meet the demands for peer-reviews in the Black Sea region.
This meeting is organised in order to define the concept for flexible use of the EVAL-INCO peer reviewer database for the purposes of the Black Sea region and will include representatives from research funding agencies of all non-EU Black Sea countries plus experts from research agencies from Turkey, Russia and Germany.
Follow up activities: The train-the-trainers workshop is planned in Chisinau. Information will be provided in due time. At midterm of BLACK SEA HORIZON the regional module of the database should be operative including valid entries of at least 1000 peer reviewers.
This meeting is BLACK SEA HORIZON internal meeting and upon invitation only. However, agencies from other countries are invited to participate at own cost. Please contact Vitalii Gryga at: firstname.lastname@example.org for any further information.
The agenda and outcomes of the meeting will be published at BSH homepage.
Please take into consideration also the Regional Workshop “Expertise and Evaluation of Research Projects in EaP countries: Current State and Future Prospects” that will take place in Kiev, on 1 October, 2015 (within the framework of the EU FP7 IncoNet EaP project). The Workshop is designed as an integral part of the International Conference “Grant 2015”, scheduled for October 1-2, 2015.
All three events take place between 30.9 and 2.10.2015 thus providing ideal opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange between representatives of related organisations and agencies.
