The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) offers 1 internship to qualified individuals wishing to gain work experience in a policy-oriented research institute. Tasks and responsibilities of the interns will include editing of scientific publications, research assistance, administrative and event support.
The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organisation.
It has since fulfilled a dual function:
a) it is an independent research and training institution focusing on the wider Black Sea region,
b) it is a related body of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and serves as its acknowledged think-tank.
The Centre’s priorities are mainly focused on the important issues of energy, environmental policies and tourism in the Black Sea area as well as the broader economic cooperation of the region with countries in an international level.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold at least a first degree (Bachelor or equivalent) preferably in social or political sciences and should have a proven interest in issues related to the Black Sea region.
- Excellent knowledge of English as well as familiarity with standard ICT applications (Microsoft Office, internet, etc.) are indispensable.
- Experience with editing is desirable.
- Familiarity with other IT applications (databases, website management) would be an advantage.
- Applications are encouraged by persons who also speak Albanian, Armenian, Azeri, Bulgarian, Georgian, Greek, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Turkish or Ukrainian.
- Valid work/residence permit for Greece and health insurance cover are required.
Conditions
- Duration: 3 months
- Working hours: preferably fulltime, minimum 20h per week
- Benefits: Interns will have their own workspace and are expected to fully integrate into the team. In recognition of their work, interns will receive a small stipend and a reference letter upon successful conclusion of the internship.
